Community Guidelines

Idealmate is for adults who want a lasting relationship or marriage. These guidelines describe how we expect members to treat each other. Breaking them can lead to content being removed, features being limited, or your account being closed.

Be real

• Use your own recent photos. Photos must show you, clearly, and no one else as the main subject. Photos of other people, celebrities, cartoons or stock images are removed.
• Tell the truth about yourself. Your age, where you live, your relationship status and what you are looking for must be accurate. If you are married or in a relationship, Idealmate is not for you.
• One person, one account. Don't create accounts for someone else, share accounts, or come back after being removed.

Be respectful

• No harassment. Don't send repeated unwanted messages, insults, threats or pressure. If someone doesn't reply or unmatches you, let it go.
• No hate. Don't attack or demean anyone for their race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age or any similar characteristic.
• Respect boundaries. A match is an invitation to talk, not an agreement to anything more. Ask before sharing personal contact details or asking for someone else's.

Keep it appropriate

• No sexual content. Photos must not contain nudity or sexually explicit material. Don't send sexual messages to someone who hasn't clearly welcomed them.
• No selling. Idealmate is not for advertising, promoting other websites or services, recruiting, or selling anything — including sex or companionship.
• No violence or illegal activity. Don't post content that threatens, glorifies violence, or promotes anything illegal.

Never ask for money

Genuine matches don't ask for money. Never ask another member for money, gifts, gift cards, cryptocurrency, loans, or help with an investment or business opportunity, whatever the reason. Accounts that do are removed. If anyone asks you for money, report them.

Protect minors

Idealmate is strictly for adults aged 18 and over. We remove anyone we believe is under 18, and anyone who seeks contact with minors. Content that sexualises minors is reported to the authorities.

Protect privacy

Don't share another member's photos, messages or personal information outside Idealmate without their permission. Don't try to find out where someone lives or works if they haven't told you.

Stay safe

• Keep conversations on Idealmate until you trust someone; our safety tools only work here.
• Meet for the first time in a public place, arrange your own transport, and tell a friend where you are going.
• Trust your instincts. You can unmatch, block or report anyone at any time.

Reporting and what happens next

Use Report on any profile or message. Reports are confidential: the member is not told who reported them. Our team reviews every report, and we may:

• remove content;
• warn the member;
• limit features;
• suspend or permanently close the account;
• contact the authorities where someone may be in danger.

You can also Block anyone. Blocking takes effect immediately, they are not notified, and they can no longer see you or contact you.
